Who likes to dance? What about the idea of making a robot that dances for you? Yes, we can make a basic dancing robot using Havi Elements and DC motor.
This self moving robot is easy to make at home and schools. If you’re a STEAM learner and looking for the science projects to try, this STEM project is the one to start with.

The making of dancing robot
Step 1
Cut one small piece of glue stick using cutter(Get the help of elder if required)
Step 2
Insert the gearless motor shaft in the center of the glue stick piece.
Step 3
Make a mark & cut the ice cream sticks.
Step 4
Join the ice cream stick pieces with each other as defined in the image to make the legs of the dancing robot.
Step 5
Snap the circuit: Power + Motor
Connect power bank with Power Element with USB cable.
Step 6
Stick the circuit over the power bank using double-sided tape. Connect gearless motor with Motor Element. Stick the gearless motor on the USB slot side of the power bank using double-sided tape.
Step 7
Stick the ice cream stick legs on both the sides of the power bank.
Step 8
Download the template. Cut & paste it over the power bank using double-sided tape as defined in the image.
Turn the Power ON. Your dancing robot is ready.
How does it work?
The dancing robot works on the concept of motor vibration. The gearless motor rotates once the Power Element turns ON. The DC motor’s shaft has a piece of glue stick. The motion of the piece causes a bit heavier than usual vibration and the vibration moves the entire power bank. Just like the phone moves on table when it vibrates.
Try:
Try removing the piece of glue stick and then see what happens
Also try increasing the length of the glue stick and observe what happens
Use your craft skills and make a mini dancing robot STEM project. A fun learning science project to represent arts + science in schools.
